We use personal information where necessary to:

We do not needlessly collect personal information for purposes unrelated to running the studio.
4. Health information and tattoo consent
Information about your physical or mental health is sensitive personal information under UK data protection law.
We may need relevant health information to assess whether a tattoo appointment can proceed safely, identify potential risks and document the information you provide.
We will limit the information collected to what is reasonably necessary for these purposes.
Where required, we will identify and rely on an appropriate legal basis and an additional condition for processing health information. Where explicit consent is the appropriate condition, we will request it clearly and separately.
Providing a general acknowledgement of this privacy policy is not, by itself, explicit consent to process health information.
5. Our legal grounds for using information
Depending on the circumstances, we may process personal information on the basis of:
-
Contract: to respond to requests and take steps towards providing agreed tattoo services.
-
Legitimate interests: to manage the studio, maintain appropriate business records and protect our legal interests, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
-
Legal obligations: where we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.
-
Consent: where consent is the appropriate legal basis for a particular use.
Health information requires an additional condition under Article 9 of the UK GDPR. The applicable condition will be determined for the actual processing carried out by the studio.
You can withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful, and it does not affect processing that has a separate valid legal basis.
6. Who may receive your information
We may use service providers to operate our website, process form submissions, host website data, communicate with customers or process payments.
These may include our website hosting provider, WordPress and its form plugins, and relevant payment or communication providers, where those services are used.
We will only share personal information where necessary for the stated purposes, where you have agreed to the relevant use, or where there is another lawful reason.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
[Before publication, the studio must confirm which providers actually receive or store form submissions and payment information.]
7. Where information is stored and how it is protected
Information submitted through our website may be stored on the website server or within the systems used by the relevant form, hosting, payment or communication provider.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.
Access to sensitive information should be restricted to people who need it for legitimate studio purposes.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. How long we keep information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of applicable legal obligations, safety records, disputes and legal claims.
Different records may need different retention periods. Enquiry records, appointment records, health declarations, consent records and financial records should not automatically all be kept for the same length of time.
[The studio will confirm its retention periods and deletion arrangements before this policy is finalised.]
9. Your data protection rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions and exceptions, you may have the right to:
-
Request access to personal information we hold about you.
-
Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
-
Request deletion of information where the law allows.
