Tattoo Permanence, Risks and Possible Complications

Tattooing involves inserting ink into the skin to create a permanent design. Although tattoo removal is possible, it can be costly, may require multiple treatments, and may not completely remove the tattoo.

Possible risks and complications include infection, allergic reactions to tattoo ink, scarring, delayed healing and skin irritation. Some people may also experience changes in the appearance of their tattoo over time.

Numbing cream declaration

Please disclose any numbing cream, anaesthetic product or other numbing preparation applied to the intended tattoo area before your appointment. These products can affect the skin, cause reactions or affect whether it is appropriate to proceed. The artist may postpone or decline the procedure if there is a safety concern.yesNo

Numbing product details

HYGIENE, INFECTION RISKS & POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONSTattooing involves breaking the skin to insert pigment. Way of Life Tattoo Studio follows appropriate hygiene and infection-control procedures for tattooing, including the use of sterile, single-use needles, disposable gloves and appropriate skin preparation and cleaning procedures. I understand that a new tattoo is a healing wound and that infection can develop during the healing process. Possible complications include infection, localised swelling, redness, pain, allergic reactions, scarring, unexpected healing outcomes and, in serious cases, blood poisoning or sepsis. I understand that an infection or other complication may become apparent days after the appointment. Following appropriate precautions reduces risks but cannot eliminate every possible complication. I have had the opportunity to ask questions about hygiene, infection risks and the tattooing procedure.

AFTERCARE & HEALING RESPONSIBILITIES *

A new tattoo is a healing wound and requires appropriate care. I agree to follow the aftercare instructions provided by the artist.

I understand that failure to follow aftercare instructions may increase the risk of infection, irritation, scarring or poor healing. If I develop worsening redness, spreading heat or swelling, pus, fever, severe or increasing pain, red streaks or other concerning symptoms, I will seek appropriate medical advice promptly.

I understand that the studio cannot diagnose or treat medical complications. I acknowledge that I have received, or will receive before leaving the studio, the studio's aftercare instructions.

I have read and understood the aftercare information and acknowledge that I am responsible for following the aftercare instructions provided.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Way of Life Tattoo Studio and its artist against claims, expenses, damages or liabilities arising from my own negligent acts, omissions, deliberate failure to disclose relevant information, or failure to follow the aftercare instructions provided.

Nothing in this clause excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or any legal rights I may have as a consumer.

BOOKING FEES, DEPOSITS & CANCELLATIONS

Appointment booking fees and deposits will be explained and agreed with the client before payment is taken. Any amount paid, the purpose of the payment, and the applicable cancellation, rescheduling and refund terms will be confirmed at the time of booking.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact Way of Life Tattoo Studio as soon as possible. Late cancellations, missed appointments and changes at short notice may affect whether a deposit or booking fee can be refunded or transferred, in accordance with the terms agreed when booking and applicable consumer law.

If the studio needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we will contact you to arrange an alternative appointment or discuss any refund due.

Deposits and booking fees are not automatically non-refundable in every circumstance. Any refund or deduction will depend on the agreed terms and the circumstances of the cancellation.
